This workshop for teenagers, run by award-winning young adult author Miranda Luby, will inspire young writers and readers with discussions and activities around craft, creativity and the writing life.

Miranda Luby

 

Miranda Luby is an award-winning author, freelance journalist, and copywriter based on Victoria’s Surf Coast. Her feature stories and columns have appeared in prestigious international publications, including The Guardian, National Geographic, BBC Travel, The Sunday Age, and the New York Post. Her publicity work has also gained significant media coverage from outlets such as Fox News and the 7.30 Report.

A celebrated fiction writer, Miranda is the author of two young adult novels published by Text Publishing: Sadie Starr’s Guide to Starting Over (shortlisted for the Text Prize) and The Edge of Everything (a Children’s Book Council of Australia Notable Book). Her short fiction has been published by Bloomsbury and Margaret River Press, and she has been shortlisted for the Commonwealth Short Story Prize.

With a diverse professional background, Miranda has worked as a lifestyle journalist and editor for News Corp magazines and as a Senior Reporter for Zoos Victoria. In recognition of her professional achievements, she was named Southern Cross University’s Young Alumnus of the Year in 2023.
