Volunteer with us.
Surf Coast Writers Festival
Volunteers
The first Surf Coast Writers Festival is taking shape, and we’re inviting our wonderful community to be part of it as volunteers.
Our Festival will thrive thanks to the passion and support of dedicated volunteers, and we’d love you to join us in bringing this event to life.
Why volunteer with us?
- Join a warm, creative community that celebrates books, ideas, and storytelling.
- Meet authors, artists, and fellow book lovers.
- Be part of a supportive team set in our stunning coastal region.
- Enjoy a Festival T-shirt and access to select sessions (where available).
Volunteer shifts run in the morning, afternoon, and possibly the evening of the event. Each shift is typically 3–4 hours, and we’ll aim to match you with your preferred times and venues.
Volunteer responsibilities may include:
- Assisting attendees with tickets and seating
- Providing venue, amenity, and local area information – including tips on where to get the best coffee, details on disability access and parking, and updates on any event and venue changes
- Supporting the box office team with ticketing
- Ensuring venues are reset and tidy between sessions
- Assisting and welcoming our guest authors and corporate partners
Please note: A volunteer information session will be held in the weeks before the Festival. Attendance is required for all volunteers, so please keep this in mind when registering.
Feel free to pass this on to friends who may be interested.
Volunteer applications for 2026 have now closed.
